This year, I have often wondered if I have what it takes to lead and guide others. I have questioned if I can unite others under a common purpose and vision. But as this year has forged, I have begun to find faith. Faith that I have an idea and dream of what it means to serve and care for others in such a way that others find a desire to follow. Alongside this faith in self, I have found it has grown in others. Leadership is not practiced in isolation. A TEAM must achieve all that a learning community needs to thrive. I may falter where others excel, and others may need bolstering where I am strong. Authentic leadership comes with discerning how it all ebbs and flows to create an original and harmonious experience that connects to how we all identify and want to be seen and valued.
“The principle goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done; men and women who are creative, inventive and discoverers, who can be critical and verify, and not accept, everything they are offered.”
